Advantage of Coffered Ceiling

It is often that people decide to design or decorate a room in their house and somehow they forget about the ceiling. The fact is that the ceiling designs with molding is an integral part of the home interior and a decoration element that should not be overlooked.

What is a coffered ceiling?

In architecture, the term “coffer” is used for a sunken panel in a ceiling. The word has originated from ancient Greek word “kophinos”, which means “basket.” A coffered ceiling is a grid of squares or rectangles that is applied to the ceiling to imitate the effect of crisscrossing beams.  Usually, after completion of construction, crown molding is applied to the inside of each of the panels to create a richly elegant appearance. The panels can be in the shape of a square, rectangle, or octagon.

Most popular lighting solutions for coffered ceilings are suspended lighting, recessed lights and chandeliers. Some modern designs feature original LED lighting and combinations of different lighting fixtures. If the room has enough height, a large chandelier will be the perfect complement to the coffered ceiling. In large rooms you can install two chandeliers and you will have a double effect. Crystal chandeliers look dramatic and add incomparable elegance to the interior. Wrought iron chandeliers are suitable for rustic decors while modern pendant chandeliers can be used in contemporary interiors. In combination with recessed lights and other light sources you will have not only a beautiful ceiling but you can make it a focal point.

Advantage of Luxurious Bathroom

Creating a luxurious feeling in the bathroom is something anyone can do as long as they get the fundamentals right, and it’s not always necessary to spend a fortune to get it. One of the first elements designers will think about is colour, which is a lot to do with personal preference. Many of my favorite bathroom designs feature dark colours and are brightened up with smaller and more colourful items such as towels, cabinets and accessories.

Let’s begin with what many people consider the most important item in the bathroom, the bath. If you have a larger bathroom then a separate bath and shower is a simple yet effective way to create a luxurious effect without too much effort. A bath that is luxurious must not only be breath taking to look at but it must also be comfortable and functional. With a freestanding bath you can combine comfort and a stylish design to create an amazing focal point in any contemporary bathroom.

If you don’t have room for both a bath and a shower in your bathroom than many people replace the bath for a stylish walk in shower, adding a walk in shower is the simplest way to get that home spa feeling that so many of us desire. Some walk in showers offer multiple shower heads combined with a large shower head above to ensure all of your body is covered for a truly relaxing shower experience.

In many homes the bathroom is one of the most frequent rooms we use on a day to day basis, it’s a place we unwind and a place we relax, by creating a luxurious feeling the relaxation levels will be enhanced. Electronics such as designer lighting and even flat screen TV’s are often items that can be overlooked, but by adding a TV that subtlety suits the room you can easily create a high profile look.

It is vital for everyone to research into styles and features they like when designing their very own luxury bathroom as everyone’s styles and preferences will vary. I could tell you how I would design a bathroom to my taste but for others it could be something completely different. The important thing is to make the bathroom your own and unique, that way you will appreciate it more. By taking time to plan and consider what features you will get the most from, you too can have the luxury bathroom you have always dreamed of.
